Trouble in paradise

Our landlord met the puppy today and informed me that "the owner doesn't want dogs in the building." Even though other people in the building have small dogs; even though the building allows babies...and one particular baby (the owners illegit grandchild) screeches all night long and most of all...even though the assholes that have kept me up with their drug parties don't pay rent because they are HER SONS!!
I'm so mad, I can't even write it well. I told the landlord to tell her if she has a problem that I'd like to talk with her personally.
I'm so frustrated. Why would some people be allowed to have dogs, but not us?? We might actually have to move. It might come down to that. I really don't want to move. I love our apartment and moving is hurty. Plus, it's hard to actually find places that will let you have any animals at all...and don't even get me started on having to come up with a deposit, yadda yadda yadda.
I'm frustrated, but know this: I already love this dog and there is NO CHANCE that I will give him up, even if it means punching an old lady in the face, calling the cops on her sons and living in stressful upheaval for a while.
Anybody know anyone who wants to rent to a responsible, thirtysomething couple, who love their pets? (for $700 or less, near a bus route)
Sigh.

YIKES! That is not a good prospect! I'll be sending good vibes into the Universe for the situation to work out well, however that may be. And give little Otis, Oscar, Rufus, Cornelius, etc... etc... a kiss for me. I miss dogs.
