Boom, boom, boom...let's go back to my room... do it all night, make ya feel alright!

Last night I gave up my "news diet" to watch Karl Rove & Barack Obama on Meet the Press. I didn't even realize until I started screaming at the t.v. after one of Rove's more abominable statements. Luckily, I was knitting a "quickie" scarf with size 13 needles (too big and bulky to stab one's own eyes out) otherwise, bloody wackiness might have ensued. I think Tim Russert knew that us pinko liberals would still be smarting and raw from last weeks election debacle (travesty, shock-horror, etc...) so, he booked Obama (just as a side note, spell check keeps catching on "Obama" and asking me to replace it with, "ovum") to follow up after Rove. Mr. Obama soon lulled me into a nice and speedy knitting coma. I finished my scarf...fringe and all. (what's with my new appreciation for fringe anyway??)
In other news I have now caught the very end of that DYI network show Knitty Gritty twice. It's kind of cool, but there's just something about the interaction between the host and her guests that seems a bit off. Both times it looks like they had the most awesome bitch-slap contest ever just before the show. I can sort of see where the tension (ha! tension...get it?...knitting pun) comes from. The host seems a little grabby. She's always grabbing the piece the guest is working on to make it more camera accessible or something. I can't quite figure it out. At any rate...it has some really neat ideas and it's always fun to watch other people knit and talk about knitting...because who are we kidding here...we're junkies.

(p.s. I'm sorry for all the parentheticals). (no, I'm not). (yes, I am). (shut up). (you shut up).
