put the needle on the record

last night i went to Black Sheep (which so conveniently moved across the street from my apartment) and got some new needles. i splurged a little, hell ya. i got some #2 (24" circs -addi turbo), #3 (24" circs -addi turbo), #9 dpn's (brittany) & some straight up #10's (brittany). the 2's and 3's are for a beret i started last night that will be loosly based on the beret in VintageKnits. i'm not really sure what i think about it so far. i've only gotten about 4 rows into the k1, p1 ribbing. i'm not really going to do any of the chart work. i want it to be stripey (yes, this is one of those "stash reduction" projects, har-har). if anyone knows of any other great beret patterns, i would love to know about them.
hopefully, i'll get some pictures up on monday.
onto the #9's. these are to redo the "Shrek" hat (please recall my enormous head)... and the 10's ...well, they're for the marilyn sweater from Interweave Knits. i still haven't heard from my yarn source, but i'm hoping she can score me some sweet, sweet cashmerino soon enough for me to make this sweater by christmas. i would love to have this to work on during the Thanksgiving holiday. mashed potatoes/ yarn-crack. stuffing/ yarn-crack. sounds heavenly.
we shall see, bitches...we shall see.
