Runaway Bride is the everliving shit

I honestly can't believe that I've never seen Runaway Bride before. It's really right up my alley...other than the starring Richard Gere part. Bleh.
It's on NBC right now and it's totally preventing me from cleaning my house, which is exactly what young urban sophisticates do with their Saturday nights, right? Right.
Lars and I spent at least three hours of our day watching Frank Black host an "Alternative" video block on VH1 Classic and for the most part, it was totally worth it. Something always occurs to me when I'm reliving the 90's alternative music scene and it's this: I remember what it was like to have musicians look like regular folks, even downright ugly in some cases, but mostly they were just regular dudes/ geeks. I really miss that and it makes me wonder what kind of music the world may be missing out on. Of course there's the indie scene, but...what about that little girl or boy who just may be the next, Frank Black or Patti Smith...but, they don't even see music as an option because as a profession it's so overly populated by the likes of "Fergie Ferg" and the "Pussycat Dolls."
Gah! Just thinking about the Pussycat Dolls makes me want to puke.
